Today I have lost one of my mentors. I was about to tell Jure how proud he would have been of the week-end which I spent partying with the group. Anyone stepping into Jure’s lab will understand why I am saying this. It hurts so much to be writing these lines instead. Jure has been such an inspirational person, shaping my career and my attitude towards life. He is the person that made me love working in a lab and taught me that science is fun. I will miss Jure a lot, and I will always feel lucky for being assigned to his lab when I was an undergraduate student during that 1997 Danish summer, which was so important to me.
