Silvia will present at the BCGES Annual Meeting – Genetics and the Brain in London next Tuesday (30th June). It will be great opportinity to showcase our latest research as well as to network with such a great lineup of speakers.
Silvia is in Italy this week to present her work and meet with established and new collaborators. She gave a seminar at the University of Bologna on 11th June and presented at this meeting aimed at families, teachers and therapists in TReggio Emilia. The group will be at ESHG 2015, which this year will be in Glasgow. We will present two posters: Sam will present our work just published on the genetics of mathematical abilities and Rob will show case his unpublished results describing the functional characterisation of the PCSK6 locus associated with handedness.
Today we welcome a new lab member: Dilsad Kilicoglu from Turkey. Dilsad is a Molecular Biology and Genetics student at Bogazici University in İstanbul and will spend the summer with us working on the functional characterization of dyslexia candidate genes.
So we are even more international and we now enjoy coffee breaks with gianduiotti and turkish delights!
