From 20-21 June, the Neurogenetics Group had a successful trip to Guildford for the 13th British Dyslexia Association International Conference. The conference had more than 300 participants from all continents, bringing together researchers, clinicians, educators, and innovators.
Silvia chaired the scientific committee and the conference with BDA CEO Chivonne Preston. She also gave the closing keynote lecture. PhD students Krzysztof Marianski and Jiuqing Tang gave oral presentations. Visiting Scholar Dr Alessandro Gialluisi (Assistant Professor, University of Insubria) presented preliminary data from the GWAS for mathematical abilities conduct in partnership with the international GenLang Consortium. The conference was a great opportunity to catch-up in person with collaborators and make new connections.
Prior to the conference, Silvia and Gillian Stirton hosted a very productive in-person satellite meeting for the Specific Learning Difficulties Network (SLDN).
