Unravelling the Role of Rare Variants Linked to Language-Related Traits

This PhD project focuses on uncovering the genetic basis of language abilities in humans. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the project combines bioinformatics, functional genomics, and molecular biology to analyze new datasets, identify genes, and investigate the molecular effects of genetic variants. With access to state-of-the-art facilities, established datasets, and international collaborations, the project offers a unique opportunity for immediate data analysis and hands-on experimentation. Prior experience in bioinformatics or molecular biology is advantageous but not required, as full training will be provided. The ideal candidate should have a passion for tackling significant scientific questions and thrive in a collaborative research environment. This is a collaboration with Sonja Vernes.
